Following Protocol

  • Vital has strict protocols in place for dealing with an incident and filing a report. It is the responsibility of you as the security officer who has dealt with the incident to fill out the correct incident reports for Vital and in some cases the venue in the OLGR book and have them available to the relevant parties.
  • You as the reporting officer need to write up the incident report in your own words.
  • Start the report as soon as possible. You need to write the report in the incident register the same day before completing your rostered  shift  as stated in legislation Security Industry Regulation 2007  37(2) Record the incident in your notebook  as soon as practicable (this can be completed after your shift) as can be used as evidence in court as contemporaneous notes.
